Welcome to Toadstool Tavern! We are a locally-owned bakery in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, that specializes
in handheld cozy treats. Founded in December 2025, Toadstool Tavern was born out of our love of sharing
our homemade sweet treats with our friends and family. At Toadstool Tavern, our goal is simple: to make
treats that feel nostalgic, comforting, and just a little magical.
We currently operate out of our apartment kitchen in Baton Rouge, offering local pickup
and delivery to Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas. Our menu features a rotating selection
of cozy treats each month, typically including three specialty cookies and one stuffed cupcake
flavor. We also offer custom large orders for events, parties, and other special occasions. Whether
you order one of our gooey cookies or our mouth-watering stuffed cupcakes, we hope every
treat feel like an escape into our cozy tavern.
Hi! I'm Tony, the founder of Toadstool Tavern. Although I grew up in Oakland, Maryland, my family's roots
have always been in Louisiana. Some of my earliest memories are in the kitchen with my family. Baking was
how my family spent time together, celebrated milestones, and showed love to the people around us. Growing
up, I genuinely thought that every kitchen was supposed to have flour, sugar, and vanilla stocked at all times.
No matter where life took me, baking always kept me connected to my family and to the comforting feeling of
home. After moving back to Louisiana for college and eventually settling in Baton Rouge, I found myself
returning to the kitchen again and again, baking the same cozy treats that shaped so many of my childhood
memories. Sharing those treats with friends, coworkers, and loved ones quickly became one of my favorite ways
of bringing people together.
Toadstool Tavern was created from that feeling. I wanted to build something warm, nostalgic, and magical, where
a cookie or cupcake could brighten someone's day and make life feel a little sweeter for a moment. This bakery
is also deeply personal to me because it carries forward a dream that belonged to my grandfather, who always
wanted to open a bakery of his own. One day, I hope to turn Toadstool Tavern into a brick-and-mortar space where
people can gather, slow down, enjoy homemade treats, and find a sense of comfort and community.
I couldn't talk about Toadstool Tavern without mentioning my husband and forever-partner, Gabriel Cobar. Gabriel has been there to support me through this whole process. Whether that meant washing dishes, packaging cookies, or handling finances, Gabriel has done everything in his power to make sure that all I've had to focus on is making delicious treats for all of you. Without Gabriel, there truly would be no Toadstool Tavern. He has pushed me past what I ever thought was possible for myself, and I can't thank him enough.
